Regardless of your reasons for wanting to learn Russian, or your current level of proficiency, Liden & Denz has a type of Russian lesson that will meet your needs. Our students learn in groups, one-to-one, or with a mix of both, and also have access to a range of specialized and supplementary courses to complete their educational experience.
The following is a brief overview of the types of courses we offer here at Liden & Denz St. Petersburg. For more detailed information, please contact us!
The Standard Group Course is the ideal format for an individual who wants to learn Russian in a social environment alongside other similarly motivated students. Using a communicative teaching approach, Liden & Denz instructors help course participants develop the language skills that they need in order to engage in real-life situations.
These courses are split to group students of similar skill levels together. The course’s two week modules build on each other, allowing students who stay in the course for a longer term to progressively develop their skills. For example, after internalising the basic grammar of the first module, these students will be able to address the same topics with more detail and nuance, acquiring more advanced vocabulary. By participating in new dialogues and exercises, these students will continue to build their skills as they study Russian.
Please note that courses for true beginners only start on specific dates, and that these students are advised to be familiar with the Cyrillic alphabet prior to the start of the course.

These courses may be of particular use to certain professional groups, which is why we offer special packages for airline staff, hospitality industry employees, and alpine ski instructors through our booking department.

These demanding but rewarding classes are available for booking at any point during the year, and will be designed by our instructors based on input provided by the student. Liden & Denz strives to meet the unique educational and professional needs of all its students. To this end, we offer a wide range of extra modules that students can add to their course selection to round out their Russian learning programme and gain a fuller understanding of the Russian language and its social and historical context.
Similar to the small groups in our Intensive Group Lessons, these mini group modules of 5 or fewer students meet for five afternoon lessons per week. Students enrolled in One-to-One courses may add these modules to include a more conversational element to their Russian lessons – not to mention the social opportunity to engage with fellow students!
Classes are generally on Mondays and Wednesdays, or on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with two lessons on one day and three on the other.
Our Language Plus modules present a fun and educational opportunity for our students to learn more about specific Russian contexts in which they can apply their new language skills. These modules can be booked in addition to any course, and prerequisite proficiency levels are specified below.
Students who elect to take a language test while studying at Liden & Denz must enrol in this compulsory module. Scheduled the same week as their exam, which takes place on Fridays, this module helps students familiarise themselves with the demands of the exam, and allows them to tailor the Russian language skills they have developed in their other courses to optimise their exam score.
Any of our students enrolled in Individual or Group courses are eligible to book additional One-to-One modules at our school. These may be particularly useful for students who need to develop language skills for a specialised area of use, who are struggling with certain concepts and want to keep up with their course, or who simply want to progress faster.
