The Moscow skyline is the symbol of the Moscow business life. The city offers a lot of sights such as Red Square, the Kremlin and famous streets such as Арбат (Arbat) or Тверская (Tverskaya). And like every every world-class city, it offers a really beautiful skyline with is actually located in the city center. Read carefully, so you are able to enjoy one of Moscow’s most beautiful and modern places and find out the best activities to do in Moscow!
An example of basic architectural chaos is represented by the modern buildings and skyscrapers of the Moscow skyline. It is 5 kilometers long and covered in glass, steel and concrete. You’re able to see it from nearly every point in the city because of their astonishing height. The skyscrapers also reflect the sun – so it’s the perfect place to have a stunning view of the city. You are able to experience this at the viewing platform on the upper edge of the state university ‘MGU’, which also shows you the perfect contrast between the old and the modern, new side of the city. Another must-see here are the Empire and the Federation Towers. They are located in the new business center right in the city center and are also part of the tallest complex of buildings. Standing on the high-altitude terraces of Moscow-City you can catch a beautiful view of the Moscow River and the western part of the city. You just have to reach the new terrace of the Empire Tower on an express elevator to the 58th floor and after that you find yourself at a height of 238 meters. Fun fact: There is a bar called ‘The Sixty Restaurant – Bar’ which is on the 62nd floor of the Federation tower. It is also known as the highest restaurant in Europe.
The two most eye-catching buildings of the Moscow skyline are the ‘Okno Business Centre’, which is 353 metres high, and the ‘Evolution’ building which is 255 metres high. The first complex involves 90 floors and is famous for the colours on the outside of the building. The second one is known by its beautiful architecture and is ‘only’ 50 floors high – so it’s one of the smaller skyscrapers there. It might remind you a bit of the ‘Gherkin’ complex, which is based in London.
If you want to get there you just have to take the Moscow Metro to ‘Vystavochnaya’ which is an excellent beginning for your journey through the city jungle and your exploration of this beautiful skyline.
In reference to the companies who have bases there, you will probably recognize that the most of them are Russian, such as ‘Rostnev’ or ‘Gazprom’. But there are also some hotels and apartments in there, which are unfortunately not affordable because of the high prices. There are also only a few buildings where access is opened to the public. Nevertheless, if you want to dine well and have a beautiful view of the city, you definitely have to visit the ‘City Space’ bar in the Swissôtel. It’s is quite expensive and a bit fancy but the view is mind blowing!
You see, the Moscow skyline offers a huge variety of beautiful rooftop places, bars with amazing views and restaurants with good vibes. Give it a try, it’s worth it!
