If you like to meat eat, Sandra already – hopefully – brought you to know Ketch Up Burgers. However, if you want a bit of a change, here are some of the best meat restaurants you might consider trying in S. Petersburg.
1. SB Burgers
Very close to Liden & Denz – on the other side of the Nevskij Prospekt – this place could become one of your favorites. It has for me, at least. First-quality ingredients, a good choice of burgers, honest prices, all in a warm, modern place, if you are in no rush to take the food с собой. And there is at least one waiter who also speaks English, if your Russian is not so good. What are you waiting for?
2. Wave Burgers
Second on this non-decreasing list – how can one decide between such beauties? – and out of the vast ocean of the burger places in Saint Petersburg, comes Wave Burgers (& More). A tad off the main city center, this tiny place features both the Kamchatka burger and the Crab One, which conquered both a place in this exclusive list and my heart. I’m sorry, девушка, you found it out this way.
3. Bureau – Бюро
Bureau – Burgers and Bar, however recent, is already an institution if you want to eat meat. A good choice of burgers accompanied by a solid list of drinks, ranging from homemade lemonade to craft beer, from Aperol Spritz to fruit juices, and a likewise solid list of toppings and sides. The desserts are not to be disdained, either. My animal-rights’ conscience prevents me from recommending you the lamb burger, but, well…
4. City Grill Express
City Grill Express’ rustic, warm, pub-style touch just makes it so much easier to enjoy the food. Not that it was needed. The selection is vast, the quality, obviously, high, and you can also opt for a steak if you’re not in the mood of dirtying your hands. Or you can just ask for fork and knife. They also have a choice of spirits from all around the world which reinforces the pub-style touch I was talking about: Scotland, Ireland, USA, Dominican Republic. You name it.
5. Buter Brodsky Bar
Last, but not least, the БутерBrodskyБар. Named after the poet Joseph Brodsky, this is not, actually, a “real” burger place. It is perfect when you want to bring your girl – or man – out to eat, you crave meat, but want to go someplace fancier than a normal burger place. It also serves breakfast, as well as other first and second courses, and a really interesting assortment of wines, beers and beverages which make it a perfect place to have aperitif. But, back to burgers: here are called “smorrebrody”, they are open and, well, they are delicious. If you plan to visit Vasiljevskij Island, stop here. You won’t regret it.
