I know it’s Friday, and I’m going to talk about one of those “I’ll do it on Monday” things. But, if you have been living here for a while and have always had the intention to do some physical activity I bet you’ll find interesting this list of my go-to when it comes to indoor sport in Saint Petersburg. And, trust me, it’ll suit all tastes.
This is one of my favourite places where to do some sport Saint Petersburg. They’re pretty much focused on cardio work and weight training, but they offer a set of group fitness programs and personal training sessions too, for those who want a more tailored experience (The latter need to be booked in advance). The only let-down is their site is not translated into English. Anyway, in this post we will be taking into consideration their most convenient locations, that is:
Considering the equipment and the structures theirselves, I would say that the value-for-money here is more than convenient. Their one-year memberships range from 9500 to 12900 rubles depending on the location you choose.
This is high-end facility is located in the very centre of Saint Petersburg on Kazanskaya Street 3. It offers not only a weight room and group classes, but also includes a pool and provides a wide variety of different activities: for example martial arts, meditation, or yoga classes, and it also has a special programme for children (For this activities a reservation is required). Good to know though, that like every luxury good this doesn’t come cheap, with the one-year membership out for an astounding 43000 rubles that can be paid either all at once, or by instalments. I almost forgot to mention, they have a special offer (32000 rubles/ year) for youngsters aged from 17 to 23. Apart from the cost it is very convenient, in fact it is a 10-minute walk far from Gostinyj Dvor metro station.
This yoga centre is right next to Alex Fitness Nevsky on the 5th floor of “Nevsky centre”, at 114/16 Nevsky Prospekt – Saint Petersburg. The place has a broad offer of different services and disciplines with prices ranging from 900 (one entry ticket) to 64000 rubles for a 12-month or 200-lesson membership. So, if you’re seeking a spiritual experience with a twist of Russia, go for it. This is definitely the place you’re looking for.
This amazing yoga place is just five minutes walking from the school on Zhukovskogo ulitsa, 39 – Saint Petersburg. Their approach to this discipline is among the most innovative and it’d been created by the man, whom the school is named after. What’s more, besides yoga the centre provides many other services like: Ayurvedic diagnostics, vastu-consultations, osteopathy, and chiropractics.
And, last but not least, for all the water-sport lovers here’s a very old school swimming pool, where you breathe in that USSR atmosphere. On top of that, the structure includes a well-equipped gym and it is located at walking distance from the school (approximately 10 minutes) on Nevsky Prospekt, 39 Saint Petersburg, but the public entrance is on Naberejnaya Reki Fontanki, 37. Unfortunately i can’t give you more details, as for every further information about prices and working hours it is required to send an email to [email protected].
To conclude i want to leave you a little glossary that may help you with you Saint Petersburg daily life. Hope it’ll come in handy.
